Hardy is the major participant on Syndicate 382, an underwriting syndicate within the Lloyd's Insurance market, and underwrites across most of the major classes of commercial business except motor and liability sectors. It is best known for aviation insurance, particularly helicopters, but it also has a significant business insuring ships and their cargos. The syndicate provides reinsurance to other underwriters against non-marine catastrophes such as hurricanes and earthquakes. The syndicate has recently expanded the range of business classes to include more non-marine business, including direct UK property, accident and medical cover and financial institutions.
