Matra Petroleum plc (“Matra”) is an independent oil and gas exploration and production company operating in the Russian Federation. The company began operations in 2006 and is now focussed on building a portfolio of development and producing assets in the Volga/Urals area of Russia. The company was originally named Ming Resources and was listed in 2005. In April 2006, the company was renamed Matra Petroleum plc and gained readmission to AIM after completion of a reverse takeover of Inke Petroleum (a private Australian company) and began exploration in Hungary.
