Company Overview

National Express Group serves more than one billion passengers a year worldwide on its bus, train, light rail and express coach and airport operations. It has leading positions in its markets - the United Kingdom and North America. Over 25% of its operations are now in international markets.

On 3 August 2005, National Express had its bid to run Thameslink Trains referred to the Competition Commission - a move that could undermine the Government's efforts to cut the number of operators running the country's trains.

Company Strategy

The National Express strategy is to achieve customer and revenue growth whilst delivering high quality, value for money and safe services to its customers. They intend to achieve this through organic growth as well as acquisition whilst capitalising on privatisation opportunities in key geographic markets.

They believe in local devolved management teams to serve the local communities in which they operate. By focusing on customer service, innovation and marketing, their ultimate goal is to make public transport the first travel choice.
