Company Overview

The London Stock Exchange Group is Europe’s leading exchange group in cash equities, fixed income and post trade services. The Group, now a FTSE 250 company, is the result of the merger in 2007 of Borsa Italiana and London Stock Exchange.

Over 500 members worldwide trade on the London Stock Exchange and Borsa Italiana. Their systems provide fast and efficient trading at very low cost allowing investors and institutions access to equity, fixed income and derivatives markets.

They supply high quality real time prices and trading data creating the transparency and liquidity that are the hallmarks of our markets. In addition they provide technology solutions to exchanges, depositories, brokerages and regulatory bodies in the United States, Europe, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region.

In post trade services they act as: a central counterparty guaranteeing payments are made and securities delivered; a Central Securities Depository and operate a securities settlement system creating netted settlement instructions, making the actual payments and delivering securities; and a custodian of securities
