FirstGroup plc is the leading transport operator in the UK and North America. With revenues of over £6.5 billion per annum and approximately 124,000 employees we transport more than 2.5 billion passengers every year.
They are one of the largest bus operators in the UK with a fleet of 8,000 vehicles, and operate more than a fifth of local bus services. They carry approximately 2.6 million passengers every day. The majority of our operations are in urban areas where the bus is the most effective means of tackling traffic congestion.
They are the UK's largest rail operator with almost a quarter of the market. They are the only operator to run every type of overground rail service in the UK, from high speed inter-city trains and overnight sleepers to local branch lines, regional, commuter and open access services.
They are the largest provider of student transportation in North America with a fleet of approximately 54,000 school buses, carrying some six million students a day across the US and Canada.
