Company Overview

City of London invests in quality, predominantly large British companies, many of which are household names or international leaders in their industry, such as Glaxo, Shell or Lloyds TSB. The company takes a long-term view in its investment approach, with the aim of increasing the value of its assets and its dividends in the long-term at a rate faster than that of the FTSE-All Share Index.

City of London has grown to be one of the largest investment trusts investing solely in the UK. Its investment style has produced consistently good performance and it has increased its dividend every year since 1966.
