Balfour Beatty showcases its focus on sustainability in partnership with innovative clients and industry partners

Ever wondered how the buildings of the future will be built? On 27 October at The Verge Conference in San Francisco, Matthew Braun from Balfour Beatty Construction U.S. will present his experiences of creating one of the USA’s greenest buildings - the modernisation of the Edith Green Wendall Wyatt federal building in Portland, Oregon.

The company has annual sales of £4.2 billion and an order book over £6.8 billion as the fifteenth largest construction company in the world, and second largest construction company in the UK. Balfour Beatty chosen for US $533 million project to construct major new hospital and transform Texas Medical Campus

Balfour Beatty plc announces today that it has signed a US$533 million contract (£329 million) to renovate and expand the Texas Medical Center campus in Houston, Texas, USA. This complex project for the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System (MHHS) includes building a 17-storey hospital, implementing a building control system for the entire campus and ensuring all hospital services function fully throughout the four year construction timeframe, which starts imminently.

Balfour Beatty joint venture appointed as sole contractor for nuclear framework contract worth over £240 million

Balfour Beatty plc today announces that its joint venture with AMEC and Jacobs has been appointed to a framework contract to provide a new nuclear waste processing plant at Sellafield in Cumbria, UK. The three way, equal, joint venture will be the sole contractor on the four year framework with Sellafield Limited which is worth between £240 million and £336 million to construct the new ‘Box Encapsulation Plant’

Balfour Beatty awarded £34m Hunterston nuclear project

Balfour Beatty has been appointed by Magnox to deliver the £34m Solid Intermediate Level Waste Encapsulation (SILWE) contract at Hunterston A former power station in North Ayrshire. The project marks the final link in Magnox’s process chain of safely encapsulating and storing intermediate level waste as part of the decommissioning of the nuclear power plant.
